David Attenborough takes a breathtaking journey through the vast and diverse continent of Africa as it has never been seen before. (Part 5: Sahara) Northern Africa is home to the greatest desert on Earth, the Sahara. On the fringes, huge zebras battle over dwindling resources and naked mole rats avoid the heat by living a bizarre underground existence. Within the desert, where the sand dunes 'sing', camels seek out water with the help of their herders and tiny swallows navigate across thousands of square miles to find a solitary oasis. This is a story of an apocalypse and how, when nature is overrun, some are forced to flee, some endure, but a few seize the opportunity to establish a new order.

Despite its usefulness, the writing was on the wall. Just over a year after the release of CS5, with the launch of Creative Suite 5.5 (CS5.5) in April 2011, Adobe announced that it was discontinuing Soundbooth. The decision was driven by customer feedback, which indicated a strong demand for a professional audio toolset that integrated seamlessly with the Adobe workflow. As a result, Adobe Audition CS5.5 was reintroduced into the Creative Suite, replacing Soundbooth.

By the time CS5 was released, Adobe had successfully rebuilt Audition on a modern, cross-platform architecture. Because Audition CS5.5 was able to adopt the clean user interface and spectral editing tools of Soundbooth while retaining heavy-duty multi-track mixing and automation, Adobe retired the Soundbooth line after CS5.
This acted as a "safety net" by letting users save "pictures" of a project's state to revert to later if needed. The Transition to Adobe Audition Soundbooth CS5 was the final version of the software. On April 24, 2011 , Adobe discontinued Soundbooth and replaced it with Adobe Audition CS5.5
Adobe SoundBooth CS5 offers a wide range of features that make it a powerful audio editing tool. Some of the key features include:
Before Soundbooth, video editors using Adobe Premiere Pro often struggled with complex audio post-production. Traditional DAWs required deep knowledge of waveforms, frequencies, and audio engineering jargon.
Video editors running Premiere Pro CS5 could right-click any audio clip in their timeline and choose "Edit in Adobe Soundbooth." Premiere would send the audio asset directly to Soundbooth. Once the editor cleaned up the noise or added effects in Soundbooth and saved the file, the audio automatically updated back in the Premiere Pro timeline without requiring manual rendering or re-importing.
