The very name Amazon was long etymologically misunderstood by the Greeks as "without a breast" ( a-mazos ). Mythmakers claimed that young Amazon girls had their right breasts seared off or tightly bound so they could draw a recurve bow or throw a javelin without obstruction.

But who were the real women behind the myth, and why did the ancient world view them with such terror and fascination? The Ancient Greek Myth: Terror of the Steppes cruel amazons

Theseus abducted the Amazon princess Antiope, prompting a retaliatory Amazon invasion of Athens. The Greeks framed this invasion as a cruel, unprovoked assault on civilization itself.

The harsh nomadic lifestyle demanded that every member of the tribe defend the herd and the community. Archaeology has thoroughly rewritten the myth: The Ancient Greek Myth: Terror of the Steppes

Through these myths, Greek society sent a clear message: female autonomy leads to cruelty, chaos, and warfare, and it must be conquered by civilization. Historical Reality: The Real Warriors Behind the Myth

Their treatment of enemies was severe. Legends tell of Amazonian queens like Penthesilea, who led her forces to Troy not for gold, but for the love of carnage. The cruelty extended beyond the battlefield; captives were often subjected to humiliation, torture, or enslavement. Some of my applications were regenerated using Chen's VFPA10 (64-bit), but one thing makes this experience unhappy: there is no VFPOleDB @64bit, making certain options like automation to Excel much more complicated. Will we one day have 64-bit VFPoleDB?
