Before using any software, you must put the printer into for it to communicate with the tool: Turn off the printer but keep it plugged in. Press and hold the Stop/Resume button (red triangle). While holding Stop/Resume , press and hold the Power button. Release only the Stop/Resume button (keep holding Power). Press the Stop/Resume button 5 times .
In the software, look for the "Clear Ink Counter" section. Click (or "Set") to reset the waste ink absorber counter to zero. You can also click resetter canon e510

If you cannot enter service mode or the tool gives errors, try these steps: Try a different version of the Service Tool.
